On Sunday, April 7, 2019, at King Ly Thai To monument, JVC welcomed the Vietnam Health Program jointly organized by the Ministry of Health, Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the World Health Organization to celebrate the World Health Day 2019. Japan Vietnam Medical Instrument Joint Stock Company (JVC), in collaboration with K Hospital, participated in free breast cancer screening for women aged 40 and over. 

The event was attended by Ms. Truong Thi Mai - Politburo Member, Head of the Central Commission for Mass Mobilization; Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Tien - Minister of Health; Mr. Le Quoc Phong - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, the first secret of the Central Committee of Youth Union; Mr. Kidong Park - Chief Representative of WHO in Viet Nam, and nearly 5,000 youth union members, young medical physicians, nurses and citizens.

The Minister of Health encouraged every citizen to join hands in taking practical actions for their own health. People need to take care of their health even when they feel healthy; walk 10,000 steps a day to change your life; enhance awareness and take early screening for non-communicable diseases such as cancer, diabetes, hypertension, and chronic lung disease.

Breast cancer screening is one of the key issues at this free screening event. In Vietnam, breast cancer is the most popular cancer in women, which is increasing and rejuvenating. However, this disease is completely curable if it is early detected. The earlier it is detected, the simpler, cheaper and more effective the treatment is. Therefore, breast cancer screening is an effective way to protect our health.

With many years of experience in health care services, JVC is particularly interested in breast cancer screening for early detection and improvement of the survival rate for patients. Therefore, from 2018, JVC studied and decided to purchase mobile Mammography vehicle specializing in breast cancer screening, collaborated with K Hospital to participate in breast cancer screening programs across the country, bringing the opportunity for examination to a large number of people.

Through the event of Responding to the Vietnam Health Program, JVC hopes to raise awareness of Hanoians in particular and the whole country in general to understand the importance of cancer screening and take action right now.

Also in this event, besides free medical checkup (breast cancer screening, lung X-ray, diabetes, heart ...), aiming to implement the topic of Universal Health Care Coverage in 2019, a number of other meaningful activities also took place such as the 18th commencement ceremony of typical young Vietnamese physicians, walking 10,000 steps in response to World Health Day 2019 and the Vietnam Health Program, voluntary blood donation, etc.
