Echelon Smart 1.5t MRI System installed by JVC at Thai Binh General Hospital to help solve people's medical examination and treatment needs
Updated 08/15/2022 17:45

August 2, 2022 marks one year after Lam Hoa General Hospital, Thai Binh put into operation the Echelon Smart 1.5T MRI magnetic resonance imaging system provided by Japan Vietnam Medical Investment And Development JSC (JVC). After a year of operation, the system has clearly shown its strength, from the ability to meet the diagnostic needs of clinicians, to outstanding features such as snapshots, durable operation. The project has helped address the needs of medical examination and treatment for people in Thai Binh province and neighboring localities.

Recognizing the increasing demand for medical examination and treatment of people, especially specific and complex diseases, in 2021, the project management board of Lam Hoa General Hospital, Thai Binh in collaboration with Japan Vietnam Medical Investment And Development JSC (JVC) decided to upgrade the Echelon Smart MRI system.

Specifically, the available technologies are upgraded, in order to increase the responsiveness and improve the efficiency of the automatic shooting feature/Auto Exam, Auto Positioning/Auto Pose, Soft sound technology and SynergyDrive package, helping to increase the shooting speed to improve image quality. In parallel, JVC engineers also organize guidance and professional training programs for experts and radiologists, in order to provide more information and support the diagnosis with the most accurate results for patients.

With a strong change, updating leading technologies, JVC and Lam Hoa General Hospital hope to bring practical benefits to patients as well as bring success to the project.

Details of the technologies equipped include:

BSI (Blood Sensitive Imaging): is a magnetic pulse that is useful in detecting calcified lesions and hemorrhagic lesions and is particularly sensitive in evaluating veins and small blood vessels.

Magnetic resonance brain perfusion (Mri Perfusion): is a technique that gives information about the distribution of blood to the brain tissue. There are two main methods that are currently being equipped: Magnetic resonance perfusion with contrast medium (T2* Weighted Perfusion Mri) and magnetic resonance perfusion without contrast medium (ASL Perfusion).

Magnetic resonance brain perfusion is indicated in many nervous system diseases such as brain stroke, brain tumor, injury, etc. Given the ability to distinguish the brain tumor from the brain abscess, accurately assess the degree of malignancy of the brain tumor, the primary or secondary tumor origin, distinguish benign and malignant lesions, assess the state of perfusion in cerebral infarction, allow to detect the cerebral parenchyma at risk of infarction (dark picture area), assess the vasoconstriction leading to cerebral ischemia of subarachnoid hemorrhage, in traumatic scene disease to assess cytotoxic edema and angioedema due to injury, change cerebral perfusion due to hematoma.

MRI Spectroscopy: Includes single-point, two-point, and CSI ( Chemical Shift Imaging) spectroscopy, which provides information on brain metabolites such as NAA, Choline, Creatine, Myo-inositol, Lipid, Lactate, etc. Magnetic resonance spectroscopy helps diagnose metabolic diseases, helps distinguish brain tumors from non-tumor lesions, and distinguishes infarction from other lesions.
