During the inspection and inauguration ceremony on the afternoon of August 31, 2021. The hospital for the patient treatment of Covid 19 is located at Alley 587, Tam Trinh Street, Yen So, Hoang Mai District, Hanoi. After more than a month of urgent construction, the field hospital treating severe and critical coronavirus patients was officially inaugurated with a scale of 3,5HA with more than 500 beds and modern equipment.
At the inauguration ceremony of the hospital, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu shared: “The funding to build the hospital is completely socialized, contributed by donors and not using the state budget absolutely. The readiness of the hospital for the "superfast" time of 1 month - is the tireless efforts of hospital staff, their merit and perseverance, construction contractors and the diligence of many corporations.
The hospital for the treatment of Covid-19 patients plays the role of National Center for Intensive Care and will be the place to organize the receive, emergency, and treatment of severe and critical COVID-19 patients, directing and guiding them, providing professional and technical support in emergency, critical care and treatment of COVID-19 patients for medical facilities in the region.
The Hospital operates with two goals. Firstly, the last line in the “tower” to treat COVID-19 patients in Hanoi and some northern provinces (including Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh and Lang Son). Second, the Hospital performs the function of the National COVID-19 Intensive Care Center (ICU).
"This is the hospital with the largest number of beds in Hanoi that I don't want to receive patients, I don't want to fill up the wards," Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu said.
The hospital is expected to begin receiving patients from September 1, 2021.
